Introduction
The purpose of the position is to provide a support service to the engineering and manufacturing departments within the organisation. To establish, maintain and optimize manufacturing and assembly capability in line with the current manufacturing requirements and latest industry technologies and support the new product development process through ensuring that new designs align with manufacturing and assembly capabilities and capacities.
Job description
Responsibilities:
Support new product development to ensure manufacturing and assembly capability and process optimisation
New product assembly line planning in conjunction with assembly plant management
Technical support for manufacturing department processes and equipment
Initiating and implementing process automation projects
Plant layouts
Maintaining manufacturing capability
Investigating the latest manufacturing technology trends
Investigating and implementing CAPEX projects
Initiating continuous improvement projects aimed at improving efficiencies and reducing costs
Supporting cost accounting functions with regard to work centre and cost centre rates
Support new product development to ensure manufacturing and assembly capability and process optimisation
New product assembly line planning in conjunction with assembly plant management
Technical support for manufacturing department processes and equipment
Initiating and implementing process automation projects
Plant layouts
Maintaining manufacturing capability
Investigating the latest manufacturing technology trends
Investigating and implementing CAPEX projects
Initiating continuous improvement projects aimed at improving efficiencies and reducing costs
Supporting cost accounting functions with regard to work centre and cost centre rates
Minimum requirements
BEng / BTech (Mechanical or Mechatronics)
At least 3 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment;
Process automation experience is essential
