Introduction
The Production Buyer (International) is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective procurement of products, components, and materials from both local and international suppliers. This role ensures that all purchasing activities support production continuity, cost savings, and adherence to quality standards while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing supply chain performance.
Job description

•    Efficient and effective procurement of products and components from local and international suppliers.
•    Source products that contribute to the company’s financial performance by identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
•    Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure optimal service, quality, and pricing.
•    Expedite and monitor deliveries to prevent production stoppages or shortages.
•    Ensure all purchased products comply with quality requirements and regulatory standards.
•    Implement and maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor data.
•    Review and process material requirements planning (MRP) and initiate purchase orders accordingly.
•    Monitor vendor performance and prepare supplier performance reports (VDP reports).
•    Share information on new market trends, products, and developments with management.
•    Ensure compliance with company and departmental purchasing procedures and quality systems.
•    Promote effective communication by providing timely feedback to management and stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications and Experience
•    Grade 12 / Matric.
•    Diploma or Degree in Purchasing or Procurement.
•    A minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement gained in a manufacturing or production environment.
•    Knowledge of MRP systems and supply chain procedures preferred.
•    Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
