Introduction
The Storeman is responsible for the efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch of stock within the
Branch. The role ensures stock accuracy, compliance with company procedures, and excellent
housekeeping within the warehouse environment.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
• Accurate and timeous processing of customer orders.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements.
• Maintain stock rotation using the FIFO principle to minimize wastage or obsolescence.
• Enforce strict access control within the warehouse.
• Ensure stock level variances do not exceed 2% (lines and value) in line with company policy.
• Collect and process picking tickets promptly.
• Ensure customer collections are completed in line with expectations.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock and ensure accuracy against purchase orders.
• Support the Branch Administrator with general office and administrative tasks.
• Participate in regular stock takes and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with couriers, drivers, or logistics teams for timely deliveries.
• Report shortages, damaged goods, or stock variances to management promptly.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards by keeping the store clean, organized, and hazard-free.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience
• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ warehouse or stores experience.
• Knowledge of BPSC or similar ERP system (advantageous).
• Good telephone etiquette and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• A proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills.
• Computer literate (MS Office or similar).
• Valid driver’s licence (preferable).
